Position Details
- In a Reliability Based Maintenance environment, maintain electronic (β€œsmart”) process measuring and control instrumentation for fermentation, packaging, and utility equipment/systems.
- Maintain power distribution systems and electrical services for fermentation, packaging, utility, and facility equipment.

Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance, repairs, improvements, and modifications to process instrumentation/controls on production and qualified utility equipment and systems (including fermenters, pick & place robots, baggers, palletizers, boilers, RO water system, and other production equipment).
- Configure, maintain, and repair complex computer systems (from Process Logic Controllers to distributed control systems); configure/calibrate/maintain/repair smart process instruments while maintaining expertise in older technologies (e.g., pneumatic).
- Provide training on maintenance of instrumentation equipment/systems in compliance with company standards/procedures and government regulations (SOPs, GMPs, GLPs, PSM, etc.).
- Serve as maintenance advisor for equipment design, parts/material selection, documentation, testing, problem solving, maintenance requirements, project scope, and follow-up.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, assemble, repair, and perform proactive maintenance in a cost-effective manner.
- Read and understand drawings/blueprints for installation/repair of new and existing equipment.
- Use test/calibration instruments and computers for troubleshooting and diagnostics.
- Perform preventive maintenance, repairs, improvements, and modifications to production, utility, and facility equipment (including high-voltage substations/switchgear/motors, explosion-proof and intrinsically-safe electrical systems, variable frequency drives, process logic controllers, generators/UPS, building control systems, pneumatics, hydraulics, and AC/DC industrial electrical applications).
- Install and repair electrical systems and electrical/electronic components (power wiring/conduit, connecting power and cables, diagnosing and replacing damaged components/wires/cables, replacing relays/switches/motors, and positioning sensing devices).

Technical Skills Required / Preferred
- Preferred: understanding of pharmaceutical/biotechnology industry and operations; demonstrated knowledge in relevant technical areas.
- Preferred: solid understanding of GMP manufacturing processes, equipment, and facilities.
- Knowledge of state-of-the-art technology.
- Good communication and organizational skills; ability to interact with all levels of the organization.
- Ability to articulate issues/solutions and produce project reports/presentations.
- Ability to analyze problems and recommend appropriate corrective and preventative actions with minimal assistance.
- Capable of managing multiple assignments; flexible and responsive to changes.
- Computer proficiency (email/internet/online training) and working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
- Strongly preferred: experience with PLC/DCS systems and instrumentation.

Education & Experience (Required / Preferred)
- Required: Journeyman Certificate with experience in a manufacturing environment.
OR
- Required: Technical/Vocational School diploma from an accredited institution with at least 2+ years of electrical or high-voltage related work experience.
