Summary/Role
The Institutional Account Manager maximizes sales of BioMarin commercialized products in their territory by maintaining high disease education/awareness to identify potential patients and coordinate care with follow-up.
Responsibilities
- Achieve territory sales goals, market penetration/share, and profit targets quarterly and annually.
- Create and implement business plans to drive disease awareness, patient find, patient adherence, and track progress for community-based HCPs.
- Create and implement institutional plans to drive opportunities within specific hospital systems.
- Build and maintain relationships with key customers/institutions (e.g., neurologists, pediatric neurologists, epileptologists, geneticists, orthopedists, nurses, NPs, genetic counselors).
- Communicate effectively with external customers and internal stakeholders (in person and via internet-based platforms).
- Provide leadership to fellow Institutional Account Managers; financially manage the assigned territory.
- Participate in business planning, disease awareness, professional society, and advocacy meetings as assigned.
- Become an expert in βthe findβ; leverage CLN2 and MPS data to educate stakeholders.
- Provide field insight to internal business partners; influence without authority.
- Comply with all company policies assigned to the role.
Scope/Travel/Remote Selling
- Manage a multi-state territory with a diverse customer base.
- Overnight travel: 50β75%.
- Remote/virtual selling required (clinic meetings, internal calls, patient education via internet platforms).
- Remote position; Territory: California, Arizona, Oregon, Nevada, Idaho.
Qualifications
- Bachelorβs degree required; advanced healthcare education/experience desired.
- Required: 5β7 years in pharmaceutical/healthcare; 3β5 years biotech/specialty sales with high-cost products.
- Highly desired: hospital/academic experience with KOLs and C-suite; orphan/rare-disease experience; hunter mentality for patient find; new product launch experience.
