Role Summary
A leadership role focused on establishing AI-based drug discovery collaborations and partnerships through Internal Medicine's AIM² Discovery Center, partnering with IM leadership to build a collaborative ecosystem where AI and bench scientists work side-by-side to co-create value for patients.

Role Responsibilities
- Partner with IM leadership to accelerate CMD-specific drug discovery by leveraging entrepreneurial/scientific advice, funding, and space to derisk and develop tangible concepts.
- Act as an “entrepreneur in residence” to identify, implement, and manage collaborative/incubator partnerships integrating AI-driven strategies into cardiometabolic drug candidate discovery and development.
- Represent IM to external partners; forge relationships with academic, biopharma, and entrepreneur stakeholders to advance application of AI to cardiometabolic drug discovery.
- Establish oversight and metrics for a portfolio of collaborative projects to measure success and demonstrate value generation.
- Interface with IM, Business Development, Legal, Discovery Network, and other teams to navigate collaborations and maximize ROI from external science.
- Manage partnership risks and implement mitigation strategies.
- Provide regular updates to senior leaders and secure resources (budget and FTEs) to deliver the collaboration plan.

Basic Qualifications
- PhD or MD with 10+ years’ experience in relevant Internal Medicine scientific discipline(s) and broad cardiometabolic disease biology understanding.
- Contemporary knowledge of AI applications in drug discovery.
- Proven business development track record delivering results from complex alliances (industry, venture, biotech, academic).
- Experience leveraging venture investment strategies to incubate companies/joint ventures.
- Experience developing milestone-based collaborative research plans.
- Ability to facilitate complex strategic conversations.
- Strong leadership and presentation skills; ability to influence, collaborate, coach others, and guide teams to business impact.

Preferred Qualifications
- Track record working with multidisciplinary teams in collaborative environments.
- Entrepreneurial thinking with strong organizational skills.
- Success negotiating in a highly matrix-based organization.

Work Location Assignment
- Hybrid: live within commuting distance; work on-site ~2.5 days/week.

Compensation/Benefits (as stated)
- Annual base salary: $254,100–$423,500; eligible for Global Performance Plan bonus target of 25% of base salary and share-based long-term incentive.
