Responsibilities:
- Provide scientific/technical leadership to establish and innovate in vivo models to interrogate mechanisms and pathways for discovery of novel treatments for autoimmune diseases and related pathologies.
- Be hands-on in the laboratory to leverage and develop in vivo and in vitro systems to generate critical data supporting new and existing programs.
- Function independently and in a team-oriented lab environment; communicate results to cross-functional discipline teams.
- Supervise and mentor 1–2 scientists, including performance evaluations and career development.
- Maintain accurate records; perform independent data analysis and report data in written and oral formats.
- Perform work in full compliance with Lilly Research Policies and complete required training activities within specified timeframes.
Basic Qualifications/Requirements:
- Ph.D. in physiology, immunology, biology, pharmacology, or closely related field, with strong/extensive in vivo capabilities; or Master’s with 8+ years of experience.
Additional Skills/Preferences:
- Experience with humanized mouse models (e.g., NSG).
- Experience with chronic non-resolving fibrosis models; understanding of immune aging models in aged mice.
- Proficient in cell isolation, cell culture, and immune cell differentiation.
- Knowledgeable in ex vivo sample assays and analyses (e.g., ELISA, RNA isolation, Nanostring).
- Familiarity with FACS and immunophenotyping.
- Ability to prioritize across multiple projects independently; initiative and appropriate risk taking; excellent communication and organization.
