In Vivo Biologist- Immunology

Role Summary

In Vivo Biologist- Immunology position at Lilly. The role focuses on developing and validating disease models of inflammation and autoimmunity to evaluate novel therapeutics within Lilly Immunology Discovery. You will work as part of the immunology in vivo pharmacology group. Located at the Lilly Biotechnology Center in San Diego, with projects supported in San Diego, Boston, and Indianapolis.

Responsibilities

• Perform all aspects of in vivo experiments: dose formulation, animal handling, dosing (PO, IP, SC, ID, IV), blood collection, small animal surgery, and tissue collection/processing and the planning thereof within the pharmacology team.
• Analyze and graph data for review.
• Perform ELISAs (or similar platform) on study samples.
• Organize data and present findings at team meetings.

Qualifications

• Required: BS or MS in physiology, biology, pharmacology or closely related field with 2+ years of in vivo experience.
• Required: Qualified applicants must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. Lilly will not provide support for or sponsor work authorization or visas for this role.
• Preferred: Skilled in dose formulation, animal handling, blood collection, animal surgery, and tissue collection/processing.
• Preferred: Experienced using Excel and GraphPad Prism for analysis and statistics.
• Preferred: Diligent record keeping.
• Preferred: Ability to design, analyze, and interpret study results.
• Preferred: Good organizational and communication skills; the position will be required to present results in internal meetings.
• Preferred: Knowledge of molecular biology (e.g. RNA isolation, RT-PCR).
• Preferred: Familiarity with imaging processes (IHC/IF, IVIS, Phenocycler), FACS analysis and FloJo, and/or cell culture techniques a plus.
