Clinical Research and Development
Key Duties And Responsibilities
- Design, develop, optimize, and execute flow cytometry-based assays to support research and translational objectives across discovery and development programs
- Lead multicolor immunophenotyping panel design, including marker selection, fluorochrome strategy, controls, and advanced gating and data analysis approaches
- Apply flow cytometry with molecular profiling data to characterize cell states, pathway activity, target engagement, and disease-relevant biology
- Partner with cross-functional teams to integrate cellular and molecular datasets (transcriptomic, proteomic, biomarker) to support hypothesis generation and program strategy
- Analyze and interpret complex flow cytometry data to support mechanism of action studies and translational hypotheses
- Establish and apply best practices for sample preparation, staining, acquisition, compensation, quality control, and data analysis
- Troubleshoot technical issues; drive continuous improvement in assay robustness, reproducibility, and efficiency
- Contribute to experimental design, study planning, and program discussions/decision-making
- Prepare technical documentation, protocols, study summaries, and presentations
- Evaluate and implement emerging cytometry/profiling technologies, reagents, and workflows
- Mentor junior team members; serve as a scientific resource
- Independently lead cytometry workstreams across multiple programs and influence decisions with data-driven insights
Knowledge And Skills
- Deep expertise in flow cytometry principles, instrumentation, and assay development
- Strong immune profiling/cellular phenotyping and molecular profiling knowledge
- High-parameter/multicolor flow panel design; intracellular and phospho-flow experience
- FlowJo/Dotmatics or equivalent; working familiarity with R or Python workflows (preferred)
- Scientific reasoning, data interpretation, problem-solving, and clear communication
- Strong organizational skills; ability to operate independently in a matrixed environment
Education And Experience
- PhD with 2+ years relevant experience, or Masterβs with 6+ years, or Bachelorβs with 8+ years
Preferred Qualifications
- Primary human samples (blood/tissue)
- Spectral flow cytometry and cell sorting (BD, Cytek, Sony)
- Translational research environments using both molecular profiling and cell-based assays
- Immunology/inflammation experience; translational/biomarker/clinical development experience
- Integration with single-cell genomics, spatial transcriptomics, or proteomics
