Role Summary

Immunology Medical Science Liaison (MSL) – Rheumatology (Seattle or Salt Lake City) serves as a field-based extension of the Medical team, representing argenx’s values as a science-driven, patient-centric organization. This role engages with key stakeholders at academic and community health centers, partners with cross-functional teams, and is an expert on argenx’s scientific data, products, and trials. The MSL reports to the MSL Director, Immunology Rheumatology Medical Science Liaisons in the respective region.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain the highest scientific and medical expertise of relevant rheumatology diseases, development indications, and treatment plans; be recognized as an expert internally and externally
  • Partner with Medical Affairs, HEOR, Patient Advocacy, and other stakeholders to build internal understanding of pipeline opportunities
  • Identify high-impact medical research projects and publication opportunities aligned with areas of interest
  • Attend local, national, and international meetings to gather intelligence and develop collaborations, sharing insights within argenx
  • Develop and maintain relationships with healthcare Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) to collaborate on research, advisory boards, and peer-to-peer education
  • Collaborate with KOLs on evidence generation including sponsored, translational, and outcomes research
  • Identify, recommend, and support principal investigators for ongoing and planned clinical trials; promote trial engagement through scientific exchange and presentations
  • Ensure timely, informative scientific/medical exchanges and education for healthcare professionals on disease awareness, diagnostics, treatment, and adherence, in line with medical strategy
  • Tailor engagement strategies to stakeholder archetypes (e.g., academic vs community) and their informational needs; respond to questions with integrity and regulatory compliance
  • Maintain close cross-functional collaboration to ensure launch readiness and support patient-focused operations

Qualifications

  • Scientific, healthcare, or medical degree (PharmD, PhD, MD, DO)
  • 3+ years of field-based MSL experience in the biopharmaceutical industry
  • Preference for candidates located in targeted cities or within reasonable proximity to a major airport
  • Strong clinical and scientific knowledge in rheumatology; immunology or other rare diseases experience is a plus
  • Experience supporting clinical trial sites to support trial milestones
  • Strong knowledge of the US healthcare landscape, including hospital systems and healthcare professionals
  • Strong understanding of compliance, legal, and regulatory landscape related to interactions with healthcare professionals
  • Ability to translate market research and data-driven insights into actionable strategic initiatives
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and VEEVA
