Role Summary
The Immunization Specialist roles are field-based positions focused on driving vaccine uptake and healthcare provider engagement across Adult and Pediatric customers. The role educates HCPs and their staff on disease prevention and GSK’s vaccine portfolio, translating clinical data into conversations that support immunization goals. The position requires strong customer engagement, scientific fluency, and collaboration with field and account leadership to ensure compliant execution.
Responsibilities
- Drive HCP demand and communicate product value to pediatric, internal medicine, family practice, and health department audiences using approved materials
- Build and maintain deep expertise in vaccine therapeutic areas, GSK products, and competitors
- Support peer-to-peer educational programs, conventions, and speaker events to enhance vaccine awareness and recommendations
- Tailor engagement strategies based on local practice dynamics and HCP/account needs
- Ensure pull-through across pediatric and adult segments for private and public vaccination, including stocking, in-office vaccination, and referrals
- Partner with Vaccine Account Managers to drive product pull-through within public awardees, health systems, and contracted accounts, following engagement guidelines
- Influence uptake of publicly funded vaccines by engaging with HCPs/staff and health department & VFC program managers; understand immunization goals and funding cycles
- Support accounts with ordering and inventory management as appropriate
- Educate/communicate policies to HCPs/staff; address barriers to contract execution and utilization with actionable feedback
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure aligned, compliant execution; identify barriers to access, reimbursement, or workflow integration
- Provide actionable field insights to inform local strategy and optimize resources
- Uphold compliance with company policies and healthcare regulations; participate in reviews and maintain CRM documentation per standards
Qualifications
- Required: Bachelor’s Degree
- Required: Minimum 2 years of business-to-business or pharmaceutical sales experience
- Required: Ability to travel domestically as necessary
- Required: Valid driver’s license and willingness to drive (essential function)
- Required: Immunization Specialist level determined by experience (e.g., Immunization Specialist vs Senior Immunization Specialist with corresponding years of experience)
- Preferred: Minimum 2 years of vaccines sales experience
