Role Summary
HTI Expert Lab Technician will support catheter development for electrophysiology and cardiac care. The role involves early-stage prototyping, working with engineering teams to transform visionary ideas into tangible prototypes using advanced materials, miniaturization, and manufacturing technologies. This onsite position is in Irvine, California, supporting rapid prototype turnaround for HTI engineering initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Support early-stage prototype builds in close collaboration with engineers and other partners
- Suggest and determine possible solutions to the necessary operations to support the device design intent
- Initiates, adjusts and operates basic laboratory and manufacturing equipment
- Performs basic operational diagnostics tests with the purpose of isolating device failures
- Resolves problems and disconnects components, subassemblies and manufacturing systems with the intent to improve design and manufacturability
- Define and improve processes and equipment, determine a solution and perform the necessary operations, while documenting changes
- Ensures that tools and testing equipment are properly calibrated and repaired, according to the standardized operations procedures
- Provides design support for HTI engineering teams
- Supports experiments and capability studies, collects documents, and files records on process specifications
- Collects design documentation and puts together training packets on new processes, materials, and equipment
- Support identifying business-related opportunities
- Adheres to all company safety policies and procedures and other safety precautions within the work area
- Follows standardized procedures to perform tasks
- Maintains work area clean and organized
- Responsible for ensuring compliance with all Federal, State, local and Company regulations, policies, and procedures
- Performs other duties assigned as needed
Qualifications
- Required: 8+ years of experience related to the position
- Required: Experience with manufacturing and assembly tools for fine-scale components
- Required: Ability to operate independently within a fast-paced, innovative environment
- Required: Knowledge in manufacturing technologies
- Preferred: Knowledge of drafting software systems
- Required: Good interpersonal skills
- Required: Able to prioritize requests
- Required: Ability to quickly and effectively switch between tasks
- Required: English communication skills, written and oral

- Ability to use computers and related software
- Ability to use measuring and testing equipment associated with the specific discipline
- Ability to work with a microscope for prolonged periods

Education
- High School, technical career or equivalent
