Job Position Overview
The Health Safety and Environment (HSE) Permit Writer will develop and maintain safe work permits within Tank Farm and Solvent Recovery (TFSR). Interfaces with Process and Project Teams to manage equipment availability and coordinate maintenance activities.

Responsibilities
- Prepare and issue safe work permits for work activities.
- Coordinate operations, project, and maintenance personnel for permits.
- Generate work orders for corrective maintenance.
- Coordinate maintenance activities within TFSR; help ensure adherence to project/maintenance schedules.
- Assist Operations Associate/Director with daily work planning and scheduling.
- Execute safe work permits (e.g., LOTO, hot work, confined space entry).
- Develop equipment-specific lock-out/tag-out/try procedures and confined space entry risk assessments.
- Develop and maintain permitting equipment and supplies; perform safety audits and maintain audit readiness.
- Review/monitor SOPs and execute unplanned SOP changes.
- Support daily operations for Process Engineers/Maintenance/Projects and supervision; may cover daily responsibilities in absence of TFSR Lead Operator.
- Identify/implement operational improvements; own issuance of non-routine work instructions with input from Process Engineers.
- Own daily tasks and preventative maintenance/breakdowns; lead continuous improvement aligned with safety/quality and operational needs.
- Understand HSE/Process Safety standards, area processes/hazards, and actively participate in safety audits, procedure coordination, housekeeping, and improvements.
- Follow cGMP practices, safe work habits, plant dress code, hygiene, and housekeeping requirements.

Basic Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 10 years applicable industry experience; direct HSE permit execution experience required.
- Effective electronic, written, and verbal communication; basic desktop computer skills.
- Authorized to work in the United States; no visa sponsorship anticipated.
- Required testing: completion of Post Offer Exam or Work Simulation (if applicable).

Additional Skills/Preferences
- Facility/area start-up experience; FDA guidelines and cGMP knowledge.
- Strong organization/prioritization; lean manufacturing knowledge.
- Ability to troubleshoot/triage; understand technical nomenclature and work with mathematical formulas.
- Manual material handling as appropriate; physical ability to bend/reach/stretch/climb and work in tight spaces; stand for long periods.

Additional Information
- Schedule: Mon–Fri, 8 hours/day; possible call-in for emergencies and scheduled training; overtime flexibility required.
- Location: US Lebanon IN LP1; Travel: 10%.
