Role Summary

Location: Richmond, VA. Reports To: Director HR Operations. The HR Compliance & Data Analyst drives data-informed decision-making across HR by delivering actionable reporting and storytelling through Workday and data visualization tools. This role blends analytical expertise with project management to lead HR compliance initiatives, support regulatory audits, and oversee policy governance. The analyst partners with the Senior Data Analyst and collaborates with HR Centers of Excellence, including Talent Acquisition, Talent Management, and Compensation & Benefits.

Responsibilities

  • People Reporting & Analytics
    • Deliver clear, actionable HR insights using Workday reporting and data visualization tools.
    • Translate complex data into compelling stories that inform strategic HR decisions.
    • Analyze workforce trends in turnover, hiring, engagement, and other key metrics.
    • Ensure data integrity across HR systems through regular audits and quality checks.
    • Collaborate with CoEs to define reporting needs and build scalable analytics solutions.
  • HR Policy & Compliance
    • Lead HR compliance initiatives, including regulatory audits, policy reviews, and governance activities.
    • Manage projects related to HR policy implementation and compliance programs, ensuring timely execution and legal alignment.
    • Oversee the development and rollout of HR policies and procedures in accordance with regulatory standards.
    • Coordinate HR compliance activities such as EEOC reporting, pay equity analysis, and external audits.
    • Deliver training and communications to promote understanding of HR policies and compliance standards.
  • Audit & Risk Management
    • Conduct regular audits of HR processes to identify risks and recommend corrective actions.
    • Monitor and report on the effectiveness of compliance programs to senior leadership.
    • Maintain documentation and prepare reports for internal and external audits.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Data Analytics, or related field; Master’s preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in people analytics, HR compliance, and policy management.
  • Strong proficiency in Workday reporting and data visualization tools (e.g., Visio, Power BI, Excel).
  • Deep understanding of employment laws, HR regulatory frameworks, and compliance best practices.
  • Proven experience managing HR projects and regulatory audits.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Data Analytics, or related field; Master’s preferred.
