Role Summary

The Human Resources Business Partner provides proactive HR support to employees, leaders, and HR team members across initiatives including employee relations, recruiting, onboarding, performance management, compliance, employee communication, rewards and recognition, compensation management, and retention. The role serves as a liaison between employees and management to address questions or concerns regarding policies, practices, and regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Provides day-to-day performance management guidance to employees and leadership (coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary action).
  • Responds to employee relations issues such as complaints, harassment allegations, and civil rights concerns; handles issues in a timely, compliant manner and coordinates with HR as required.
  • Partner with HR team on employee relations discussions, exit interviews, and performance recognition.
  • Support engagement initiatives and recognition; maintain employee records.
  • Collaborate with leadership to track and follow up on disciplinary write-ups.
  • Assist in monitoring the annual performance review cycle and train teams to ensure timely completion of objectives, reviews, salary reviews, and development plans.
  • Assist Leave Administrator with administration of leaves of absence per policy and law.
  • Conduct recurring meetings with leadership and employees to improve relationships, morale, productivity, and retention.
  • Coach on employee-related issues such as performance, development, and terminations.
  • Communicate HR policies, procedures, laws, standards, and government regulations to employees and leadership.
  • Maintain compliance with federal and state employment regulations; create reports and analyze data to recommend program revisions.
  • Assist employees with requests and questions; promote a productive working environment and culture.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Required: 5+ years of business and/or human resources experience.
  • Hands-on approach with ability to manage multiple projects in a growth-oriented environment; strong problem-solving and attention to detail.
  • Ability to align HR initiatives with business goals and drive continuous improvement.
  • Comfort interfacing at all levels of the organization; mediation and coaching skills at management level.
  • Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint).
  • Strong interpersonal skills; calm, patient, and helpful in handling employee issues.

Education

  • Desirable: SHRM-CP
  • Experience with Workday is a plus

Additional Requirements

  • Physical demands: ability to sit/stand for long periods; ability to lift up to 30 pounds; other physical requirements as described.
  • Overtime may be required; travel occasionally.
