HPC System Administrator - Hybrid

Role: HPC Systems Administrator responsible for managing and maintaining high-performance computing infrastructure supporting biopharma research applications. Objectives include optimizing system performance, ensuring stability, and supporting computational research. Responsibilities encompass hardware/software installation, system configuration, performance monitoring, job scheduling optimization, user support, security management, backup and disaster recovery, and hardware maintenance. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in a technical field or 3+ years Linux/HPC experience; minimum 3 years Linux sysadmin in enterprise/HPC setting; 2+ years supporting HPC infrastructure, job schedulers like IBM LSF, parallel file systems (e.g., GPFS, Lustre), enterprise storage solutions, and high-speed networking technologies such as InfiniBand; scripting skills (Bash/Python); experience with hardware installation and troubleshooting. Preferred qualifications include expertise in HPC software/hardware (e.g., IBM Spectrum Scale, NetApp E-Series, Nvidia InfiniBand), network administration, performance monitoring tools, and problem-solving skills. High-value specifics: supporting large-scale computational research in biopharma with potential involvement in data-intensive drug discovery or genomic analysis. Work setup involves on-call rotation, occasional after-hours support, and periodic travel.
