Role Summary
This position is part of a newly created sales team focused on the psychiatry space, responsible for the performance of a long-acting injectable therapy for schizophrenia. The Institutional Hospital Sales Representative will cover the Minneapolis, MN market and be accountable for achieving and delivering results in a compliant and ethical manner. The role focuses on institutional selling efforts, including the hospital channel for the long-acting injectable therapy, and requires building strong networks with internal and external stakeholders while applying analytics to inform business decisions.
Responsibilities
- Develop effective business plans to meet and exceed territory-level sales goals, with ability to sell in different settings of care and identify key opportunities.
- Demonstrate a collaborative sales approach and coordinate efforts between sales leadership, other Teva sales teams, market access, sales operations, and training.
- Adhere to all Teva compliance guidelines and ensure the sales team operates with integrity.
- Review weekly/monthly data reports to identify trends, address concerns, and build rapport with employees and external contacts at all levels.
- Provide healthcare product demonstrations, physician detailing, and in-servicing of products to current and potential customers.
- Consult with physicians, nurses, and medical office staff to promote the product and provide product and patient education.
- Work closely with specialty pharmacy facilities to ensure product availability and provide education as necessary.
- Stay informed about product formulary developments within hospitals by working with the P&T committee.
- Collaborate with discharge coordinators to understand patient follow-up treatment and transitions of care.
- Maintain a call average focused on top target customers in alignment with the sales plan.
Qualifications
- Required: Bachelor's degree.
- Required: Minimum of 5 years of pharmaceutical sales experience, preferably in the long-acting injectable schizophrenia space.
- Required: Experience in the hospital setting with understanding of buy-and-bill, formulary placement, P&T committees, and in-services.
- Preferred: Experience in psychiatric therapeutic areas.
- Preferred: Specific experience with long-acting injectables for the treatment of schizophrenia in the hospital setting.
- Preferred: Experience launching products in the psychiatric space across multiple settings of care.
- Preferred: Injectable and in-office administration experience within a mental health facility.
- Required/Preferred: Ability to operate within complex settings and networks and provide customer insights effectively.
Skills
- Ability to interact with customers in live and virtual environments; proficiency with technology.
- Understanding of reimbursement coverage and pull-through strategies across settings of business (CMHC, specialty pharmacy, private practice).
- Understanding of the buy-and-bill model.
- Leadership skills and ability to collaborate with multiple sales teams.
- Proven written and verbal communication skills.
- Valid US driver's license and acceptable driving record.
