Role: Histotechnologist responsible for processing and preparing human tissue and fluid specimens for microscopic examination in a clinical laboratory setting. Objectives include producing histopathological slides, performing immunohistochemical and special staining procedures, and ensuring accurate, timely reporting to support patient care. Responsibilities encompass tissue embedding, sectioning, staining, equipment operation and maintenance, quality control, and documentation per CLIA standards. Requirements: Bachelor's in Histology or Biological/Chemical sciences with 1+ years of clinical lab experience or completion of a histology certification; proficiency with manual and automated histology equipment; attention to detail; physical capability to handle specimens; passing color blindness test. Preferred: 3+ months of histology and immunohistochemistry experience; histology and/or ASCP certification; experience in high-volume labs. High-value: clinical histology, immunohistochemistry, tissue processing, regulatory compliance (CLIA), quality control, automation. Collaboration involves working within a diagnostic lab team, with potential cross-training in lab information systems. Work setup: full-time, onsite in Brentwood, TN, TuesdayโSaturday, with flexibility for overtime or shift adjustments.
