Role: Histotechnician responsible for processing human tissue and body fluid specimens for microscopic examination, producing histopathological slides, and performing immunohistochemical tests. Responsibilities include embedding, sectioning, staining, and maintaining laboratory equipment to ensure quality and timely reporting of results. Qualifications: Associate’s degree in Histology or equivalent with at least 1 year of histology experience; preferred certifications include Histology and/or ASCP, with some experience in immunohistochemistry. High-value details: primarily focused on surgical tissue processing in a high-volume laboratory setting; requires proficiency with manual and automated instruments, laboratory information systems, and adherence to CLIA standards; physical ability to embed specimens of varying sizes and pass color blindness tests. Skills: attention to detail, strong organizational and communication skills, ability to work independently or in teams, and flexibility for overtime or shift changes. Work setup: on-site in Raritan, NJ, with a Monday–Friday schedule, 12:00 pm–8:30 pm, and willingness to work overtime as needed.
