Histotechnician

Role: Histotechnician responsible for processing human tissue and body fluid specimens for microscopic examination, producing histopathological slides, and performing immunohistochemical tests to support diagnostic and research activities. Responsibilities: embed, section, stain, and analyze tissue specimens; operate and maintain manual and automated laboratory instruments; ensure quality control and proper documentation; adhere to laboratory procedures and safety standards. Requirements: Associate’s degree in Histology or equivalent experience; 1+ years histology experience preferred; ASCP certification is desirable. High-Value: histology and immunohistochemistry, tissue processing, high-volume lab environment, shift work on 3rd shift in Cincinnati, OH; familiarity with CLIA standards, laboratory information systems, and laboratory safety protocols; ability to embed both large and small specimens; physical ability to handle specimens and pass color blindness testing. Skills: attention to detail, organizational skills, proficiency with computers, ability to work independently and within a team, flexibility for overtime or shift changes.
