Role: Histology Technologist I supporting pathology lab functions with immunohistochemistry (IHC), specimen processing, embedding, slide preparation, and microtomy. Responsibilities: perform routine and high-complexity histology tasks, including grossing, processing, IHC staining, and slide QC; ensure specimen integrity and accurate labeling; maintain equipment and document procedures; assist with special projects; uphold safety and compliance standards. Requirements: at least 1 year of IHC/histology lab experience or equivalent training; a Bachelor's in a biological or medical lab science or an accredited associate degree with relevant coursework; completion of a clinical training program or 3+ months of high-complexity histology training. Preferred: HT/HTL (ASCP) certification eligibility, QIHC certification. HighValue: experience in high-complexity clinical histology, immunohistochemistry, biological specimen handling, safety protocols for biohazards and chemicals, and working with automation systems. Work setup: primarily on-site with periodic travel; may involve evening, weekend, or holiday shifts. The role requires manual dexterity, visual acuity, ability to handle biohazards, and use of microscopes and lab equipment.
