Role: Histotechnician responsible for processing human tissue and fluid specimens, producing histopathological slides, and performing immunohistochemistry and special staining procedures. Responsibilities include embedding, sectioning, staining, and maintaining laboratory equipment; adhering to quality control protocols; and ensuring accurate, timely reporting of results to support patient care. Requirements: Associateβs degree in a Chemical, Biological Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology; proficiency in histology and immunohistochemistry; experience in high-volume laboratory environments preferred; and relevant certifications such as ASCP are advantageous. Additional skills: attention to detail, laboratory operation knowledge, computer literacy, and physical capability to handle specimens; ability to pass color blindness test and flexibility for overtime and shift adjustments. High-Value: Laboratory-based role in histopathology, working with human surgical specimens; focused on quality control and specimen processing; related to diagnostic pathology. Work setup: onsite in Richland, WA, with night shift hours, overtime, and rotating weekends.
