Title: High Voltage Electrician - Instrument Technician β Maintenance β LP1
Responsibilities:
- Service, troubleshoot, and maintain LTC utilities (high purity water, compressed air, steam, chilled water, glycol, city water, sewers); maintain utility equipment/buildings at all utility locations.
- Assist craftspeople in multiple crafts.
- Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on 4160/480V electrical equipment (circuit breakers, 13.8KV main switchgear, motor starters, fuses, ground fault interrupts).
- Perform preventive maintenance on complex electrical equipment (motor control centers, variable-speed drives, programmable logic controllers, etc.).
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair electrical equipment to minimize downtime.
- Perform modifications and new installations of electrical equipment; install/replace complex equipment (e.g., motor control centers, main switchgear).
- Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on process instrumentation (temperature, pressure, flow, automatic control valves).
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair process instrumentation; perform modifications and new installations.
- Read P&ID drawings and schematics.
- Comply with safety rules and approved procedures to ensure cGMP compliance; document work using Good Documentation Practices.
Basic Qualifications:
- 480 volt switch gear.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of a Post Offer exam.
- Authorization to work in the United States on a full-time basis (no sponsorship provided, including visas such as F-1 CPT/OPT/STEM OPT, J-1, H-1B, TN, O-1, E-3, H-1B1, L-1).
Additional Skills/Preferences:
- Associate degree in Electronics Technology, or equivalent electrical and/or instrumentation work experience.
- Experience troubleshooting and new installation of instrumentation.
- Mechanical aptitude; basic electrical skills to troubleshoot circuits/equipment.
- Willing to respond to call-in and scheduled overtime; capable of lifting up to 40 pounds.
- Ability to work outdoors in winter/summer weather.
- Experience maintaining circuit breakers, medium voltage switchgear, motor starters, fuses.
- Ability to read P&ID drawings and schematics.
- Experience with CMMS (e.g., GMARS) or similar work order tracking.
- Document work using ALCOA+; proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
Additional Information (role requirements):
- Some shift work; temporary shift changes possible.
- PPE required due to hazardous utility operations (acid, steam, caustic, chlorine, high pressure, high temperatures).
- May require ladders/scaffolding and working in cramped areas.
- Requires working on summer and year-end company breaks.
