Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide coverage and build relationships with Managed Care, Payers, Societies, and other Medical Access influencers
- Engage in field-based Health Economics & Outcomes Research (HEOR) activities
- Educate payer and market access communities on disease and treatment in collaboration with reimbursement/managed market teams
- Partner with Account Managers to meet healthcare professional and plan information needs; manage assigned Key Customer Accounts and affiliate national/regional account interfaces
- Maintain ongoing scientific dialogue with managed care audiences regarding clinical information, scientific discussions, and health outcomes research for all therapies
- Work with key customers and opinion leaders; support TA Medical Science Liaisons (MSLs) in interpreting scientific data to inform policy decision-makers
- Prepare balanced responses to clinical/scientific concerns from Population Health decision-makers (managed care, Medicare/Medicaid, plan medical/pharmacy directors)
- Facilitate education and HEOR account activities for current and new therapies
- Collaborate with in-house HEOR team on HEOR strategies, including database analysis and vendor proposals
- Develop and deliver HEOR collaborations with population health decision-makers; demonstrate experience via HEOR publications and projects
Education/Experience/Skills (Qualifications):
- PharmD, M.D., Ph.D., or other recognized doctorate-level education with applicable health science background; additional MPH, MBA, and/or health services degree highly desired
- 5+ years related field medical or comparable experience addressing scientific/clinical policy issues in managed care/market access (Medicare/Medicaid)
- 4+ years post-professional degree practice or relevant transferable experience (clinical practice, academic research, regulatory/scientific)
- Outcomes Research Fellowship (preferred) or equivalent managed market medical experience
- Highly desired: experience leading/designing/managing field or HQ HEOR studies
- Highly desired: experience with health plan drug utilization decision-making (e.g., P&T Committee, guideline panels)
- Strong preference: direct experience in payer environment; government/private payer relationship knowledge
- Experience communicating health outcomes research and economic model results
- Ability to operate within legal/regulatory guidelines
- Scientific/pharmaceutical knowledge; strong leadership/team, planning, written/verbal communication, presentation/teaching skills; ability to learn and convey technical information effectively
- Proven ability to work within an MSL team and develop/maintain relationships
- Requires ~60% travel; must be near a major airport
Physical Requirements (summary):
- Regular standing/walking/sitting; occasional lifting/moving up to 20 lbs; travel as required (up to ~25%); work after hours if needed
