Purpose (role summary)
- Lead Healthcare Improvement (HCI) initiatives using implementation science to improve adoption, evaluation, sustainability, and scale of evidence-based practices and selected evidence-generation efforts.

Responsibilities
- Business Unit HCI Leadership:
- Serve as HCI Lead for an assigned Business Unit; partner with BU Medical Affairs to identify priority care gaps.
- Lead strategy, design, implementation, management, and scale-up of collaborative non-grant HCI initiatives.
- Support grant-supported HCI by enabling scale-up, dissemination, publication, and practical application.
- Ensure clear objectives, meaningful implementation/outcome measures, and measurable patient/provider/system impact.
- Align HCI priorities and external engagement with BU strategy, governance, and funding.
- Enterprise Implementation Science Leadership:
- Serve as an enterprise SME for implementation science; advise on fit-for-purpose frameworks, methods, measures, and study designs.
- Partner with HEOR, Clinical Development, Medical Affairs, etc. to strengthen HCI and applied evidence-generation.
- Build internal capability via consultation, coaching, education, and collaborative problem-solving.
- Scientific Rigor, Evaluation, Learning, Dissemination, and Scale:
- Strengthen methodological rigor (design, evaluation, sustainability, dissemination).
- Translate learnings into scalable approaches, playbooks, and external dissemination.
- Support dissemination via publications, abstracts, posters, presentations, tools, and knowledge-sharing.
- Cross-functional Partnership, Influence, and Operational Excellence:
- Connect HCI Hub with enterprise functions; influence without authority.
- Manage scope, timelines, budget, governance, and compliance; proactively manage risks and improve processes.

Role Scope Notes
- Not a standalone HEOR/Clinical Development role; does not independently own broad evidence-generation agendas or set BU priorities.

Qualifications
- PhD, MS, or other advanced degree in implementation science, health services research, public health, epidemiology, health policy, or a related field.
- 8+ years progressive experience in implementation science/health services research or related field.

Preferred/Additional Skills
- Experience applying implementation science in real-world healthcare delivery and evidence translation.
- Track record leading complex cross-functional initiatives with internal/external stakeholders.
- Ability to translate scientific/methodological expertise into practical strategy and measurable outcomes.
- Experience partnering with healthcare systems/provider organizations, public health, academia, or life sciences.
- Familiarity with healthcare improvement/QI approaches (e.g., IHI frameworks).
- Experience with evaluation design, implementation outcomes, and dissemination.
- Global thinking, compliance in regulated environments.
- Flexible location; ~20% domestic/international travel.
