About The Role
Responsible for leading the execution, communication, and administration of all company health and wellbeing programs, including retirement. Manage vendor relationships, compliance requirements, and annual budget administration. Act as a collaborative partner across teams, including HR, Legal, Accounting, and Senior Leadership. May occasionally support absence management.
Your Contributions
- Responsible for the planning, analysis, obtaining leadership/organizational buy-in, development and implementation for all benefits offerings through collaboration with the HR team and the appropriate Senior Leadership to align with the organization's strategic goals.
- Analyzes benefits policies and practices. Negotiates coverage, services and costs with carriers and brokers. Ensures that programs are aligned with our Total Rewards strategy and company objectives, remain market competitive through use of benchmarking and trend data, while managing cost.
- Ensures programs comply with Federal, State and local regulations, including HIPAA, and manages governmental filings (i.e., 5500s, PCORI, CMS).
- Reviews, negotiates and monitors contract provisions with vendors and service providers and ensures adherence to contractual obligations, service level agreements (SLAs) and budget.
- Develops and implements employee communication and education programs designed to keep employees informed about company benefit plans and any changes.
- Manages benefits knowledge base articles, content and data, including all employee and candidate facing websites / materials.
- Works on issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth knowledge of the company's benefit programs.
- Assists with the development of budgets, schedules, work plans, and performance requirements.
- Provides consultative advice to HR business partners, employees and leaders on benefits, policy and best practices, as applicable. Provide back-up support for absence management as needed.
- Builds and maintains strong partnerships with a high level of effective interface with HR, Finance, Payroll, IT and Legal team members.
- Identify, develop, evaluate and implement benefits processes to ensure the efficient operation of the function, including employee benefit selection, enrollments and invoicing are completed in timely manner; may be responsible for shared resources.

Requirements
- BS/BA degree in human resources, business or related field, or equivalent experience, training, or certifications and 6+ years of progressive experience developing and implementing employee benefits programs. Some managerial / functional management or lead experience preferred OR
- Master's degree (preferred) and 4+ years of similar experience noted above.
- Certified Benefits Professional (CBP) or Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS) certification is strongly preferred.
- Requires understanding of how the team / work area relates to other functional areas and uses that knowledge to improve efficiency, and produce high-quality work on problems with cross-functional impact.
- Identifies and resolves technical, operational and organizational issues relating to benefits and closely related areas.
- Frequently works cross-functionally as the representative for their area.
- May work with a small team or shared resources.
- Computer literacy, including all Microsoft Office applications and information systems to include manager and employee self-service applications.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including demonstrated ability to design and implement effective communications.
- Ability to provide effective consultative advice and influence others including leadership.
- Proven ability to capture and analyze program data to drive decisions.
- In-depth experience of compliance requirements for fully-insured and self-funded programs, including timing, distribution rules, and filing requirements, including but not limited to: HIPAA, Medicare, ACA, COBRA, PECORI and Plan Documents/SBCs.
- Strong vendor management, driving discussions and outcomes.
- Proficient in basic accounting principles to effectively manage budgets, review reporting and support accounting and finance with accruals and accounting questions related to billing.
- Expertise in plan design to support HRIS compliant benefit plan set up, troubleshoot, and test.
- Demonstrated ability to continually improve process, creating efficiency.
- Working knowledge of regulatory and legal requirements related to benefits and related systems.

The annual base salary we reasonably expect to pay is $117,300.00-$170,050.00. Individual pay decisions depend on various factors, such as primary work location, complexity and responsibility of role, job duties/requirements, and relevant experience and skills. In addition, this position offers an annual bonus with a target of 30% of the earned base salary and eligibility to participate in our equity-based long-term incentive program. Benefits offered include a retirement savings plan (with company match), paid vacation, holiday and personal days, paid caregiver/parental and medical leave, and health benefits to include medical, prescription drug, dental and vision coverage in accordance with the terms and conditions of the applicable plans.
