Role Summary
The Health IT Specialist will support the implementation and optimization of EHR-based solutions across Acadia’s therapeutic areas. This role is primarily field-facing, partnering with the account teams and working directly with health systems to scope workflow interventions, guide pilots, and capture feedback. The HIT Specialist ensures that HIT solutions are adopted effectively at the customer level while serving as a bridge between field execution and Acadia’s central HIT strategy team.
Responsibilities
- Provider Workflow Engagement
- Partner with IDN and Clinics IT leaders to identify areas of opportunity for interventions.
- Engage with IDNs and Clinics on workflow assessments to identify opportunities for improved outcomes.
- Educate on digital assets needed to support health system collaborations, such as removing barriers, digitizing assets, etc.
- Education and Support
- Serve as a point of support for account teams to apply HIT strategies and resources appropriately.
- Conduct education and share knowledge with other Acadia colleagues
- Guide pilots and rollouts, ensuring adoption and seamless integration into provider systems.
- Customer Feedback
- Establish feedback loops with field teams to capture adoption barriers and operational challenges.
- Report insights and Key Performance Indicators to refine future HIT strategy and execution.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Health Informatics, Business, or related field. (Required)
- 3-5 years of experience in Health IT, EHR/CDS, or clinical informatics within pharmaceutical, biotech, or health system settings. (Required)
- Direct experience working with major EHR platforms (Epic, Cerner, Oracle, Athena). (Required)
- Demonstrated success implementing HIT solutions with IDNs, Clinicals, or other complex health systems. (Required)
- Proven track record supporting pilots, rollouts, or adoption of HIT solutions within provider settings. (Required)
- Ability to travel 50%, as required. (Required)
- Advanced degree (e.g., MS, MPH, PharmD, MBA, or equivalent). (Preferred)
- 5+ years of progressive Health IT or clinical informatics experience. (Preferred)
- Certifications such as HIMSS Certification, RHIA/RHIT, or AMIA certifications. (Preferred)
- Familiarity with specialty pharmacy workflows and CNS therapeutic areas. (Preferred)
- Experience collaborating with account teams in pharmaceutical or biotech settings. (Preferred)
- Cross-functional experience with Market Access, Medical, Compliance, and Commercial partners. (Preferred)
- Based in the East region, with responsibility for covering the territory; reside near a major airport to enable regional travel. (Preferred)
Skills
- Strong knowledge of major EHR platforms (Epic, Cerner, Athena, eClinicalWorks) and major 3rd party systems (clinical decision support, etc.)
- Hands-on experience conducting workflow assessments within health systems or provider IT environments.
- Ability to troubleshoot technical and operational barriers during rollout and adoption.
- Strong customer presence, skilled communicator able to translate technical concepts for broader audiences, able to influence without authority.
- Integrity and commitment to compliance in a regulated environment.
- Interpersonal flexibility to effectively engage with diverse provider and internal stakeholders.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Health Informatics, Business, or related field.
Additional Requirements
- Travel up to 50% required; validated by role scope and territory coverage.
- Physical requirements: regular standing, walking, sitting, handling or operating equipment; occasional lifting up to 20 pounds; ability to travel overnight as needed.
