Responsibilities:
- Implement the team’s vision to establish GSK leadership in proactively shaping the broader environment (including disease areas and key policy/access issues).
- Lead prioritized external stakeholder engagements in priority disease and issue areas.
- Collaborate with Pipeline, Product, and Patient teams to improve care experience by addressing barriers to care, closing treatment gaps, and improving understanding, prevention, and treatment.
- Gain patient and health system insights from external collaboration to drive ecosystem strategies locally and nationally.
- Initiate “pull through” from external engagements to orchestrate multistakeholder health system initiatives.
- Serve as a forward-looking thought partner to US leadership to get ahead of US health system transformation.
- Act as a financial steward for a significant project and external giving budget.
- Own advocacy governance: controls, oversight, reporting, and risk management; ensure cross-functional alignment for funding decisions and establish processes/controls for direct contracting with US patients.
- Ensure the function is independent, enterprise-oriented, and product-agnostic.

Qualifications (Basic):
- BA/BS in public policy, public health, health administration, business, communications, political science, or related field.
- 8+ years in pharma/biotech or healthcare consulting.
- Deep experience in external advocacy/policy organizations.
- Knowledge of US health system design/transformation and health policy trends.
- 5+ years leading matrix teams.
- 3+ years managing people.

Qualifications (Preferred):
- 10+ years progressive experience in government/public affairs or health systems strategy, including 5+ years people management.
- Track record building strategic external partnerships.
- Experience designing multi-stakeholder external engagement strategies aligned to commercial/medical/access/policy.
- Experience managing budgets (low–mid millions; comfort overseeing $10–20M).
- Familiarity with compliance/legal constraints (e.g., US Sunshine/OPD, PhRMA Code).
- Strong communication and ability to synthesize insights for senior leadership.
