Your Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as a thought partner for the NS & GTx unit head and leadership team on strategy, portfolio strategy, and program-level strategic considerations.
- Lead strategic initiatives within NS GTx and contribute to development or enterprise-level initiatives.
- Co-lead NS & GTx strategy reviews with NS & GTx leadership; collaborate across NS & GTx organizations; prepare outputs for senior management, Board of Directors, and external audiences (e.g., investors).
- Proactively monitor external landscape (industry, regulatory, etc.), assess impact on the portfolio, and derive concrete actions/recommendations.
- Lead governance and quality decision-making at the NS & GTx Leadership team; point person for portfolio/strategy activities and requests.
- Lead internal/external communications, including IR and pipeline communications, through generation/review of NS & GTx reports; lead development of strategic communication and associate engagement plan.
- Translate NS & GTx strategy into leadership team and development leadership objectives (with Global Program Teams and DU line functions) and continuously track status.
- Optimize portfolio value and update relevant NS & GTx strategy.
- Prepare for governance meetings (in-writing memos and monthly updates) and liaise with governance boards to coordinate review flow.
- May manage NS & GTx Operational Manager(s); direct reports: 1–5 associates.
- Accountable for external annual DU budget planning; manage department headcount (10–20 FTEs) and oversee DU project development costs.
- Ensure resource optimization by influencing trial and program design through matching investment to portfolio prioritization and risk profile.

Role Requirements:
Essential:
- Master’s degree (or equivalent) in life sciences or healthcare plus 10+ years of drug development experience and knowledge of drug development strategy.
- 5+ years of people and matrix management experience.
- Excellent problem-solving, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
- Significant cross-functional and global team experience.
- Strong relationship builder and communicator; experience leading diverse teams, driving program excellence, engaging functional partners, and partnering with disease unit Head and Business Franchise Head.
- Advanced planning and project management skills with understanding of business processes.

Desired:
- MD, PhD, or MBA.
- Global people management experience.

Travel/Location:
- Onsite at Cambridge, MA or East Hanover, NJ; no remote work. Requires ~5% business travel (domestic and/or international).
