Head of Regeneron Cell Medicines

Role: Head of Regeneron Cell Medicines (RCM), leading strategy, portfolio, and technological development for ex vivo and in vivo cell therapies, including CAR T programs and delivery platforms. Responsibilities: define scientific vision, prioritize programs, oversee cross-functional teams from target validation to early clinical stages, guide technical problem-solving, and foster innovation in cell engineering, delivery methods, and manufacturing. Lead organizational development, talent mentorship, and build external collaborations. Ensure operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and effective stakeholder communication. Requirements: PhD, MD, or equivalent in cell biology, immunology, or bioengineering; 20+ years in biopharma R&D with extensive experience in cell-based therapies; expertise in CAR design, gene delivery vectors, biodistribution, PK, safety, and regulatory pathways; strong leadership, strategic planning, and cross-functional collaboration skills. Preferred: Experience with in vivo gene therapies and nonclinical safety packages; familiarity with GxP, IND processes, and external partnerships. High-value: Focus on CAR T and cell therapies, early to clinical development, in vivo and ex vivo modalities, regulatory compliance, and team leadership. Work setup: On-site in Cambridge, MA (4+ days/week), with travel to Tarrytown, NY, and Seattle, WA.
