About the role / Responsibilities:
- Lead creation and execution of enterprise environmental compliance and management programs (natural resource conservation, risk management, hazardous waste management).
- Provide EHSS leadership with cross-functional collaboration to integrate best practices and improve manufacturing operations while enhancing environmental sustainability.
- Direct environmental due diligence and represent the company in regulatory engagements.
- Oversee Scope 1 & 2 operational climate strategy and net-zero roadmap to reach net-zero GHG emissions related to operations by FY2035, including renewable energy optimization.
- Develop and execute environmental risk management and resiliency initiatives; mentor the EHSS team; support environmental/climate reporting, disclosures, and assurance.
What you bring to Takeda:
- Degree in life sciences, engineering, or similar.
- 10+ yearsβ experience in Pharmaceutical/Biopharmaceutical (or associated industry).
- Experience leading teams across multiple locations.
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams, regulatory agencies, and vendors.
- Program management experience with demonstrated EHS practices.
- Expertise in worldwide environmental compliance, EHS risk management, and environmental program development (e.g., waste, wastewater, air, biodiversity).
- Ability to oversee Scope 1 & 2 emissions strategy governance/execution and data/reporting readiness for disclosures/assurance.
- Desired: Industry certifications (e.g., Chartered Engineer, Certified Environment Professional).
Compensation/Benefits (U.S., Lexington, MA): Base salary range $177,000β$278,080; may be eligible for incentives and benefits including medical/dental/vision, 401(k), disability/life insurance, tuition reimbursement, paid time off, and sick time.
