Position Summary
Senior Leader in Vaccines R&D Clinical Immunology and Diagnostics, reporting to the Head of Clinical Diagnostics. Envision and implement next-generation immunodiagnostics, including high-throughput ligand binding assay (LBA) strategies emphasizing automation, speed, and precision.
Responsibilities
- Envision and execute next-generation automated, rapid LBA strategies as alternatives to plate-based assays.
- Track scientific/technological advances; identify and license or develop promising diagnostic platforms.
- Set objectives and manage multiple assay development projects (serological, immunodiagnostic, toxicological).
- Prioritize clinical epidemiological studies by optimizing logistical testing resources.
- Author/review technical documents, assay validations, regulatory responses, and scientific publications.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external partners; lead technology transfers and represent the department in key discussions.
- Direct and mentor a diverse team of scientists, including management of subordinate managers.
- Ensure laboratory/clinical testing adherence to GCLP/cGMP and SOPs.
Minimum Qualifications
- PhD in Immunology or closely related biological field.
- 5+ years industry experience leading advanced tools/assays and implementation of cutting-edge technologies.
- Experience managing other managers and mentoring junior scientists.
Required Technical Skills
- Assay development and lifecycle management.
- Robotic sample handling, clinical batching, Design of Experiments (DoE), and biostatistical analysis.
- Analytical/clinical validation under GCLP and/or cGMP.
- LIMS and DoE software proficiency.
Communication/Influence
- Strong publication record; present high-level data to senior leadership.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience using AI/ML or advanced scheduling algorithms for high-throughput automation and assay data analysis.
- Experience interacting with/responding to regulatory agencies.
Work Location
Hybrid: live within commuting distance; ~2.5 days/week on-site.
Compensation/Benefits (if applicable)
- Base salary: $176,600β$294,300; 20% bonus target; comprehensive benefits (e.g., 401(k), paid leave, medical/dental/vision).
