Job Description

Johnson and Johnson is currently seeking the best talent for a Head of Global Strategic Marketing, within the Johnson & Johnson MedTech organization. This role will be based in Irvine, CA.

The Head of Global Strategic Marketing is a key leadership position responsible for driving the company’s global initiatives and enhancing its product portfolio within our Neurovascular area.

The role is accountable for the development and execution of the marketing strategy globally to drive short and long-term growth, coordinate critical processes including business planning, strategic marketing plans, portfolio management and development, health economic market research, and new product launches, ensuring that marketing efforts align with the company's overall business objectives.

Responsibilities

This leader will build value and lead the execution via partnership with R&D, Regional Marketing, Strategic Relations, Education and Business Development. Additional responsibilities will include:

  • Strategy Planning: Responsible for the development and execution of a global marketing strategy that supports the company’s business objectives and drives revenue growth. Ensures competitive strategies are in place for new and existing products.
  • Portfolio Strategy: Build the 5-year innovation and pipeline strategy in collaboration with cross-functional partners. Coordinate execution of global portfolio strategy for Neurovascular.
  • New Product Launch: Provide leadership for regional new product launches. Ensure collaboration with regional marketing teams to implement NPD. Drive the cross-functional and cross-organizational delivery of the strategy and global product portfolio marketing plans.
  • Customer Relationships: Build strong customer relationships globally. Ensure voice of customer is central to all global product decisions.
  • Inspire a customer focused culture: Understands and anticipates customer needs. Ensures that appropriate customer input is gathered and incorporated for new and existing products.
  • Team Leadership: lead a marketing team, provide mentorship and direction to ensure that all marketing initiatives are aligned with the company’s overall goals.
  • Accountable for talent development of the team through meaningful development conversations and provide regular coaching/feedback. Develop a strong talent bench and critical marketing and HEMA capabilities.
  • Budget Management: develop and lead department budgets, ensuring budgets are in alignment with company goals.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Marketing or a related field is required; a Master’s level degree is preferred.
  • Minimum of 10-years of relevant business experience in Global Marketing, General Management, or a related field is required, along with a minimum of 8-years of direct people leadership experience is required.
  • Experience in product development, along with product knowledge and product launches
  • Global portfolio and strategy planning experience is required; leading strategic global organizations is strongly preferred.
  • Capability to stimulate innovation in Marketing through identification and communication of significant global unmet needs
  • Strong understanding of clinical study requirements and experience with regulatory organizations globally is required.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to use data to inform decision-making.
  • Strong partner and collaborator, with various functions including R&D, commercial field leadership, regulatory affairs, clinical affairs and supply chain.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with external partners.
  • Experience leading high performing teams and projects
  • Effective management in a large organization and ability to act as an organizational change agent and leader are required.
  • Neurovascular industry and clinical knowledge highly preferred, with the ability to learn complex technology/clinical applications.
  • Up to 40% domestic and international travel will be required.
