Role Summary

As the Head of Finance Operational Excellence, PMO, and Strategy, you will lead the transformation of our global Finance organization while serving as Chief of Staff to the CFO. Partnering closely with the Finance Leadership Team (FLT), you will oversee the "Finance Forward" program management office, working closely with the Chief Accounting Officer (CAO) team, and ensuring alignment across the Finance team. This role reports directly to the CFO and is a member of the FLT. The ideal candidate will bring a strong blend of strategic insight, operational excellence, and the ability to influence and collaborate across all levels of the organization; and aspire to work within Finance or to broaden current scope within Finance.

Responsibilities

  • PMO and Transformation
    • Working closely with the Chief Accounting Officer (CAO) team charged with executing the enablement of integrating new processes, technology, and enterprise performance capabilities through One Stream and S4Hana:
      • Lead the evolution of the Finance Forward strategy and transformation, including an evolved Finance Operating Model, in collaboration with the FLT
      • Assess current structures, capabilities, and systems to further define a future-state operating model and transformation roadmap.
      • Lead change initiatives to eliminate inefficiencies, break down silos, and implement future-ready solutions.
    • Serve as a trusted advisor to the FLT, providing insights on transformation progress, risks, and value realization.
    • Drive cross-functional collaboration and engage senior leadership to ensure alignment and commitment throughout the transformation journey.
    • Foster a high-accountability, execution-focused culture, serving as a visible change agent and role model.
    • Lead and mentor a high-performing team, cultivating innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Chief of Staff
    • Work with leadership to provide decision support to triage, distill and organize recommendations for CFO approval (anticipate requests for additional information, support with additional research or information analysis and surface key takeaways to ensure content is presented in a digestible format).
    • Lead the CFO's office, including agenda setting, meeting preparation, and follow-up on strategic actions.
    • Coordinate communications and alignment across the FLT; prepare executive-level presentations, board materials, and strategic updates as needed.
    • Synthesize complex information into clear, actionable insights to support executive decision-making.

Qualifications

  • Required: 15+ years of progressive leadership experience in Finance, with at least 5-7 years in a senior executive or transformation leadership role
  • Required: Experience in complex, matrixed global organizations, preferably in life sciences, healthcare, or technology
  • Required: Demonstrated ability to partner with C-suite executives and influence across functions
  • Required: Strategic and systems thinking
  • Required: Executive communication and stakeholder engagement
  • Required: Program and project management
  • Preferred: Experience as a Chief of Staff or strategic advisor to a CFO or senior executive
  • Preferred: Aspiration to develop into a senior role within the Finance organization or to broaden current scope within Finance

Education

  • Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field
  • Preferred: MBA or advanced degree in Finance, Strategy, or Organizational Leadership
