Role Summary

Head of Engineering responsible for Asset Reliability and Maintenance, Production Engineering, Capital Investments and Facilities, reporting to the Site Operations VP. Direct reports include Maintenance Manager, Lead Production Engineer, Project Engineer, Reliability Engineer and Facilities Engineer.

Responsibilities

  • Implement an asset reliability system that achieves the optimum performance of the equipment, improves site resilience, and delivers within agreed budgets
  • Develop technical competence, specifically the upskilling of engineering, maintenance, and facilities teams
  • Establish and improve key reliability performance indicators
  • Responsible for Asset Reliability Pillar in Perrigo Work Systems (PWS) implementation
  • Maintain real-time communication with the team and other groups
  • Create flexibility and capability with focus on zero losses, 100% engagement, continuous improvement aimed at waste reduction and efficiency improvements by streamlining processes
  • Responsible for capital investment initiatives, and for achieving the plantβ€šΓ„Γ΄s Compelling Business Need (CBN) including safety, quality, service, cash flow, productivity and growth targets
  • Build strong project management capability within the plant engineering teams through adequate training plans, coaching and mentoring
  • Partner with training department to organize workshops and events with OEM/suppliers as well as consultants (e.g. FMEA workshops, Precision Maintenance trainings)

Qualifications

  • Degree in Engineering or other technical discipline
  • Excellent understanding of Asset Reliability in terms of Manufacturing context
  • Expertise in manufacturing optimization
  • 10+ years of experience in a similar environment, manufacturing optimization, reliability engineering
  • Experienced in Six Sigma, Lean Systems Concepts and Principles
  • 5+ years of experience in managerial roles
  • Financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting experience
  • Proactive structured problem evaluation & solving skills learned through exposure to Lean, Six Sigma, TPM or Operations Excellence
  • Exemplary written and verbal communication skills
  • Profitability and zero loss mindset
  • Strong organization and planning skills
