Head of Discovery & Translation (Cambridge, MA) β€” Reports to Chief Scientific Officer

Responsibilities
- Provide strategic and scientific leadership across a pipeline from target identification through discovery execution, IND/CTA-enabling studies, and regulatory submissions.
- Oversee Discovery, Preclinical, and Oligonucleotide Chemistry functions; integrate teams to support pipeline programs and pharma partnerships.
- Drive target prioritization, resource allocation, and technical oversight to generate high-quality, decision-enabling data and transition programs from research to development.
- Partner with Platform leadership for cross-functional alignment to reach go/no-go decisions.
- Drive translational strategy for clinical transition, including disease biomarker discovery and human dose selection using translational pharmacology and nonclinical safety data.
- Serve as a thought partner to the CSO on pipeline strategy, portfolio prioritization, and external landscape.
- Lead Directors/Managers and Discovery & Translational scientists; mentor and develop the team.

Qualifications
- PhD in molecular biology, pharmacology, biochemistry, or related field.
- Significant industry experience in drug discovery/development with leadership of multidisciplinary teams.
- Track record advancing nucleic acid therapeutics (ASOs and/or siRNA) from discovery into development.
- Preclinical safety experience (own work and/or management of external consultants).
- Experience in oligonucleotide CNS drug discovery (preferred).
- Experience with regulatory documentation/strategy/filings.
- Translational research and early clinical development experience (biomarkers, pharmacology).
- Ability to integrate platform science with pipeline decisions.
