Position Summary
Head of Clinical Pharmacology will work with cross-functional stakeholders across discovery, preclinical, and clinical development. Serve as a subject matter expert in DMPK, classical and quantitative clinical pharmacology; contribute to translational strategies to define optimal dose, route, and regimen. Accountable for Clinical Pharmacology aspects of regulatory filings and for communicating results to internal teams, executive management, health authorities, and external collaborators. Mentor junior scientists; directly manage and build Clinical Pharmacology capabilities in the US and China.
Job Responsibilities
- Expand/guide clinical pharmacology group (FTEs and vendors); oversee strategy and build MIDD decision-making culture.
- Manage department budget.
- Drive translational strategies.
- Oversee PK/PD analysis and interpretation; collaborate on nonclinical studies using quantitative methods.
- Oversee competitive intelligence analysis.
- Supervise/mentor junior scientists; drive process improvement and career development.
- Interface with external collaborators and stakeholders; represent function in publications/regulatory interactions and due diligence teams.
- Build Clinical Pharmacology capability in China; contribute to AI implementation for drug development.
Qualifications
- M.D./Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences/Pharmacokinetics or related field, or PharmD + Clinical Pharmacology fellowship.
- 12+ years clinical pharmacology industry experience in matrix drug development.
- Leadership in clinical pharmacology (strategic/scientific), cross-functional and supervisory experience.
- Experience with small molecules and metabolism.
- Knowledge of FDA/EMA/ICH clinical pharmacology requirements; regulatory filing/interactions experience.
- Strong analytical, regulatory, negotiation, communication, and cross-cultural collaboration skills.
Travel Required
- Occasional travel, including to China.
