Role Summary
Head of Clean Utilities and Sustainability, located in Framingham, MA. Responsible for the safe, compliant, and efficient operation and maintenance of clean utility systems. Leads the siteβs cross-functional sustainability program to deliver Planet Care targets for CO2, energy, water, waste, and biodiversity. Manages process improvements to enhance efficiency, safety, and quality, and oversees budgets related to clean utilities and utilities (gas, electricity, water, carbon).
Responsibilities
- Ensure safe, compliant, and efficient operation and maintenance of Clean Utility systems.
- Lead the site's cross-functional sustainability program to deliver Sanofiβs Planet Care targets for CO2, Energy, Water, Waste, and Biodiversity.
- Implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, safety, and quality within the clean utility systems. Manage the department budget for clean utilities and utilities (gas, electricity, water, carbon).
- Manage budgets related to utilities consumption, conservation projects, and sustainability initiatives and identify opportunities to drive cost savings through energy efficiency and water reduction.
- Lead a team of engineers and specialists in utility management and sustainability projects.
Qualifications
- Required: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, or related field (Master's preferred).
- Required: 6+ years of experience in utility management, with at least 3 years in leadership roles.
- Required: Technical experience managing clean and industrial utilities in complex environments.
- Required: Experience working in a GMP environment.
- Required: Strong project management skills and budget oversight experience.
- Required: Strong people management skills and demonstrated ability to work with cross functional teams.
- Required: Demonstrated experience with Energy and Environmental management systems, programs, and projects.
- Required: Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
- Preferred: Professional certification in sustainability or environmental management.
- Preferred: Experience in pharmaceutical or regulated manufacturing environments.
- Preferred: Knowledge of ISO 14001 and other environmental management systems.
- Preferred: Experience implementing renewable energy or carbon reduction initiatives.
- Preferred: Proven track record of successful sustainability program implementation.
