Role Summary
- Lead the advancement of Artificial Intelligence (AI) across the Clinical Development lifecycle. Partner with Oncology Clinical Development, Clinical Operations, Biostatistics, Data Science, Medical Affairs, Regulatory Affairs, and Digital to identify, develop, and scale AI-driven capabilities improving trial design, data review, execution, efficiency, decision-making, and regulatory readiness.

Role Responsibilities
Strategic AI Leadership
- Develop and execute the enterprise strategy for AI-enabled Clinical Excellence.
- Identify high-value AI opportunities to accelerate development timelines, improve quality, reduce operational burden, and enhance decision-making.
- Advise senior leaders on emerging AI capabilities and industry trends.

Clinical Development Innovation
- Drive AI adoption across study design, protocol optimization, feasibility, recruitment, trial execution, and clinical data review.
- Lead AI-enabled approaches to improve trial performance, operational excellence, and portfolio decisions.
- Enable predictive and prescriptive analytics for program- and study-level decisions.

AI Product Development and Deployment
- Design, build, validate, and deploy AI-powered tools/platforms with digital/data science/technology teams.
- Establish scalable AI frameworks integrated into clinical workflows.
- Develop agentic AI, generative AI, predictive analytics, and workflow automation solutions.

Regulatory and Governance Leadership
- Provide expertise on global regulatory expectations for AI/ML in drug development.
- Partner to establish AI governance, validation, and risk management.
- Monitor evolving health authority guidance and standards.

Minimum Qualifications
- MD with 4+ years OR PhD (Life Sciences/Clinical Research/Data Science/Biostatistics/CS/Engineering/related) with 5+ years OR MS with 7+ years in relevant pharma/biotech/CRO/regulatory/healthcare settings.
- Experience designing/developing/implementing AI/ML/advanced analytics in clinical research.
- Experience supporting Clinical Development/Operations/Science/Data Review/Regulatory Science.
- Lead cross-functional programs across clinical, regulatory, scientific, and technical stakeholders.
- Strong GCP/clinical trial conduct/drug development/regulatory knowledge.
- Translate complex challenges into scalable technology-enabled solutions.
- Strong communication and executive influencing.

Preferred Qualifications
- Expertise in Clinical Development, Oncology, Regulatory Science, Data Science, or Clinical Informatics.
- Experience with LLMs, Generative AI, Agentic AI, or workflow automation in regulated environments.
- Oncology experience.
- Familiarity with emerging AI-enabled drug development regulatory frameworks.
- Experience with global regulators (e.g., FDA/EMA/MHRA/PMDA/Health Canada).
- Enterprise AI transformation leadership.
- Publication record and scientific credibility.
- Experience building and leading teams.
