Role Responsibilities
- Lead strategic operations of Takeda’s Planet Imperative to minimize environmental footprint and support life-saving medication mission.
- Create and implement governance structure and implementation strategy for environmental sustainability goals.
- Define and run Planet strategy deployment processes (long-term planning and annual initiatives across Planet program areas), ensuring alignment with business functions and stakeholders.
- Establish operating/communications mechanisms for transparency, prioritization, and execution oversight of cross-functional objectives and metrics.
- Manage Planet budget and long-range planning.
- Lead, coach, and mentor Planet program team members; apply the Planet program maturity model and best practices.
- Lead Planet data systems and analytics for data integrity, automation, and forecasting.

How You Will Contribute
- Support development/execution of environmental sustainability strategy, including net-zero GHG emissions programs.
- Support executive presentations as needed.
- Lead data gathering/validation for sustainability reporting.
- Partner with DD&T to ensure data systems support robust KPIs for decision-making.
- Maintain stakeholder alignment and represent Takeda externally as appropriate.
- Support development of standards/SOPs/tools/trainings.
- Manage governance, continuous improvement, operating mechanisms, workshops, meetings, and stakeholder updates/metrics reporting.
- Maintain MS Teams/SharePoint structures for Planet information and access control.
- Build program management capabilities; provide ad hoc program/project support.

Minimum Requirements / Qualifications
- Bachelor’s in a scientific field (Environmental/Sustainability/Chemistry/Engineering preferred); PhD or Master’s in relevant areas preferred.
- 10+ years in corporate/consultancy sustainability (ideally pharma manufacturing or similar complexity).
- 5+ years in Program/Project Management; biotechnology/pharma experience highly desirable.
- Expertise in sustainability data measurement, tracking, analytics tools.
- Strong problem-solving, cross-functional collaboration, influencing, and communication skills.
- Ability to articulate business value of environmental sustainability.
- Proficient in MS Office; enterprise PPM software a plus.
