Role Summary
HAZMAT Control Operator I. Perform all aspects of truck and bulk liquid unloading to support operations at API-US facility, including raw materials and solvents, utilities, purification, fermentation, recovery, and warehouse operations. Ensure bulk liquid and materials are delivered into API-US systems and perform duties in SAP/ERP Inventory Control, including material put-away.
Responsibilities
- Loading and unloading product from trucks, tankers, and ISO containers
- Operating pumps and valves; blending and mixing chemicals and products during offloads
- Handling, labeling, and storage of hazardous and non-hazardous materials
- Processing material handling operations for hazardous materials in drum, pallet, and IBC configurations
- Ensuring all material movements are performed timely and accurately in SAP/ERP
- Visual and pH inspection on rainwater prior to pumping out containment areas as needed
- Perform weekly pH probe calibrations utilizing MES/DeltaV
- Replace solvent and boundary filters based on planned maintenance schedules in SAP
- Partner with warehouse sampling operations as appropriate
- Daily inspections of equipment used in offloading chemicals and materials
- Adhering to plant health, safety, and environmental guidelines, policies, and procedures
- Keeping work area clean throughout shift
- Maintain up-to-date training status
- Work in a safe and environmentally responsible manner
- Other accountabilities, as assigned
Qualifications
- Required: High School diploma/GED
- Required: Minimum of two (2) years of truck/bulk liquid unloading or warehousing or equivalent, preferably in a regulatory inspected facility, GMP warehouse, or pharmaceutical industry
- Required: Basic math skills, including knowledge of metric system
- Required: Ability to read, write legibly and understand all department documentation
- Required: Ability to drive non-CDL box truck or similar vehicle for movement of materials on site
- Preferred: AS degree in related field or equivalent industrial, military, or vocational training with understanding of mechanical, electrical, and control systems
- Preferred: HAZWOPER certification and/or relevant training
- Preferred: Knowledge of SAP/ERP and entry-level warehouse tasks
- Preferred: Computer competencies including basic Microsoft Outlook and Word
- Preferred: Training or experience with hazardous materials handling and storage
- Preferred: Ability to operate stand-up and sit-down forklifts after training and licensure
- Preferred: Knowledge of MES and DeltaV operating systems
- Preferred: Good organizational skills and ability to adapt to schedule changes
