Role Summary

Global Procurement Manager of Analytics Hub leads the analytics-driven procurement function, partnering with internal business units to understand analytical needs, develop data-driven solutions, and drive cost savings. The role focuses on designing and communicating insights through advanced visualizations, translating complex questions into actionable analytical projects, and integrating analytical models into procurement systems to enhance real-time decision-making. Key capabilities include data engineering, statistical modeling, and collaboration across the Procurement and Data & Analytics teams.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with internal business units and Gilead Business Partners to understand analytical needs and provide data-driven solutions.
  • Develop compelling visualizations and narratives to effectively communicate findings to stakeholders at all levels.
  • Translate complex business questions into structured analytical problems and deliver clear, actionable recommendations.
  • Design and implement advanced statistical models and machine learning algorithms to analyze spend patterns, forecast demand, and evaluate supplier performance.
  • Apply data science methodologies to optimize cost savings, mitigate supply risks, and ensure contract compliance.
  • Leverage SQL and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) to analyze procurement data and deliver meaningful insights.
  • Build, automate, and maintain robust data pipelines and workflows using orchestration tools such as Airflow and Alteryx.
  • Integrate analytical models and insights into procurement systems like SAP Ariba to enhance real-time decision-making.
  • Ensure data quality, consistency, and integrity across multiple procurement platforms and sources.
  • Support a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within Procurement and Data & Analytics.
  • Contribute to team development by enhancing analytical capabilities and ensuring access to the necessary tools and training.

Qualifications

  • Required: Bachelor’s degree with 6 years of experience or Master’s degree with 4 years of experience.

Skills

  • Data analysis and storytelling using data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI).
  • Proficiency with SQL and data pipeline/workflow tools (Airflow, Alteryx).
  • Experience integrating analytical models into procurement systems (e.g., SAP Ariba).
  • Strong statistical modeling and machine learning fundamentals; ability to translate business questions into analytical solutions.
  • Attention to data quality, governance, and cross-platform data integrity.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field required; Master’s degree preferred.
