Role Summary

Global Procurement Category Lead - Sales Enablement supports NA and global procurement by unifying Sales Enablement spend into a strategic category. The role touches end patients, products, and HCPs, driving end-to-end value, faster speed to market, and improved patient access. Based in USA (Philadelphia, PA and Durham, NC) with a focus on leveraging procurement to enable growth and Innovation.

Responsibilities

  • Creation and ongoing management of the Procurement category strategy for Sales Enablement for North America ultimately delivers the business requirements across assurance of supply, quality, service, cost and innovation.
  • Leverage AI via Procurement’s digital tools for sourcing, contracting, and risk identification and management
  • Running competitive sourcing processes (RFP/RFQ/eAuctions) to identify new suppliers and solutions aligned to our evolving business needs
  • Negotiate contracts with suppliers that secure favorable terms for GSK in line with the agreed business requirements.
  • Partner with Local Procurement colleagues to execute strategic initiatives.
  • Build strategic relationships with GSK stakeholders, to understand business requirements, identify opportunities to create value and to position Procurement’s value proposition. Align sourcing strategies accordingly.
  • Lead stakeholder alignment and annual value plan delivery
  • Lead SRM for key strategic vendors to collaborate on innovative new solutions for GSK
  • Manage key suppliers through a robust performance management process. Ensure supplier performance is understood and measured.

Qualifications

  • Required: 5+ years of commercial procurement experience and understanding of the sales category where possible
  • Required: Bachelor's Degree
  • Required: Understanding of the link between marketing, sales and HCP engagement
  • Required: Procurement experience particularly with respect to developing & implementing strategies, stakeholder management and supplier relationship management and some experience of regulated environments
  • Required: Experience in influencing strategy and managing across multiple markets.
  • Required: Contracting experience required, including a thorough understanding of contracting fundamentals and experience with contract planning, negotiation, execution, interpretation and maintenance.
  • Preferred: Leadership and effective communication skills
  • Preferred: Understanding of Procurement tools / skillset such as sourcing, RFP processes, quotation analysis, contract negotiation, supplier review, supplier development and others
  • Preferred: Ability to motivate and inspire colleagues within a matrix structure, and work in partnership with others to drive, implement and support change
  • Preferred: Ability to manage sensitive partnerships, strong influencing and stakeholder partnering skills coupled with excellent negotiation and communication skills
  • Preferred: English proficiency (written and oral), other language will be a plus
  • Preferred: Knowledge of finance (cost benchmark & financial audit with key supplier) and legal matters (contracting)
