Global Pharmacovigilance Operations Leader
Position Summary
Zoetis is seeking a strategic and visionary leader to serve as the Global Head of Veterinary Pharmacovigilance Operations. This critical role will provide global oversight and direction for the Pharmacovigilance (PV) Operations Pillar, ensuring excellence in PV System Management, Regulatory Compliance, and Global Pharmacovigilance Training.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the leadership and operational execution of global pharmacovigilance activities, including (but not limited to) regulatory reporting, performance metrics, PV system ownership, and the PV Training program. This role will work in close partnership with leaders across the Global PV Signal Management and Medical Pillars to maintain and continuously improve robust, compliant PV systems, tools, and processes aligned with global regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Leadership and Strategy
- Lead the veterinary pharmacovigilance operations pillar function, setting strategic direction and ensuring alignment with corporate goals.
- Collective responsibility with Signal Management and Medical Pillar leads for alignment of Global Pharmacovigilance roles, responsibilities, goals, and objectives.
- Represent pharmacovigilance in cross-functional teams, regulatory meetings, and industry forums.
- Establish mid/long-term roadmap for PV Systems, Tools, and resources.
- Regulatory Compliance
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of global veterinary pharmacovigilance regulations (e.g., EMA, FDA, USDA, VICH).
- Ensure global compliance with internal SOPs and external regulatory requirements.
- PV Systems and Tools
- Provide oversight of PV Systems, tools and processes.
- Ensure a global and robust PV Training Program.
- Team Development
- Mentor and develop pharmacovigilance staff, fostering a culture of scientific excellence and compliance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners to ensure utmost compliance with global pharmacovigilance reporting requirements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in science related field
- Minimum 8-10 years of experience in veterinary pharmacovigilance or animal health industry.
- Strong understanding of global pharmacovigilance regulations and veterinary product lifecycle.
- Proven leadership experience with cross-functional teams.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and decision-making skills.
Preferred Skills
- DVM (Doctor of Veterinary Medicine) or equivalent veterinary degree advanced degree (e.g., MSc, PhD) in pharmacology, toxicology, or related field preferred.
- Experience with pharmacovigilance databases and signal detection tools.
- Familiarity with zoonotic disease implications and One Health principles.
- Ability to manage complex safety issues and present findings to senior leadership and regulators.
