About the role
- Set enterprise governance for equipment operations and facility-fit innovation to improve competitiveness, ensure compliance, and protect reliable patient supply across regulatory, quality, capacity, and environment/health & safety requirements.
- Serve as the primary interface for manufacturing sites, driving equipment/technology operations support and resolving process and plant-engineering issues.
- Lead facility-fit assessments for manufacturing equipment and facilities to enable network strategy, capital investments, lifecycle management, and technology transfer.

How you will contribute
- Lead manufacturing and plant equipment improvement programs to deliver right-first-time production, including contamination control.
- Evaluate equipment operations and implement improvements to increase efficiency, reliability, and product quality (e.g., throughput, overall equipment effectiveness).
- Lead facility and process-equipment evaluations; define design selection criteria within regulatory requirements.
- Drive technology innovation via subject matter expert working groups; ensure standardization/commonality, sound solution selection, and effective troubleshooting.
- Build and maintain equipment capacity modelling to monitor utilization, identify bottlenecks, and unlock capacity.
- Support capital investment and business case development for equipment technology and facility fit (benefits realization and funding logic).
- Act as enterprise integrator across key functions; provide executive oversight of critical supplier/partner ecosystems.

What you bring to Takeda
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Process, Industrial, or Systems Engineering (or related) required; advanced degree or MBA preferred.
- 10+ years progressive experience in pharmaceutical engineering (or similar), with strong GxP, EHS, ICH/FDA/CMC/ISPE/PDA guidance understanding.
- Demonstrated leadership, problem-solving, decision-making, influencing, and change management in a global matrix.
- Proven engineering technology knowledge supporting product development/manufacturing and regulatory/quality requirements.
