Role Summary

Global Development Product Lead (Executive Director) responsible for leading multiple oncology product teams from pre-clinical candidate nomination through Phase 1–2 development and proof of concept, with handoff to late-stage teams for post-POC development. Drives end-to-end cross-functional strategy, risk mitigation, and delivery of data-driven milestones while representing the program to the external clinical community.

Responsibilities

  • Lead multiple cross-functional oncology product teams from CAN through Phase 1-2 development and POC, with potential handoff to late-stage development.
  • Integrate end-to-end cross-functional molecule strategy and risk mitigation plans; ensure delivery of milestones through risk identification and mitigation.
  • Support clinical trials and developmental strategy for early assets; represent the program with external clinical stakeholders.
  • Develop clinical development plans from first-in-human trials to POC, including biomarker plans and evaluation of combinations.
  • Ensure cross-functional components of product plans include clinical expertise and medical monitoring of trials.
  • Provide substantial support for CDP development and diligence for external innovation activities.
  • Lead enterprise-level cross-functional workstreams to accelerate R&D decision making.

Qualifications

  • MD or MD-PhD with 10+ years of industry experience in oncology drug development; track record in oncology clinical research including early development.
  • Clinical oncology experience; board certification in oncology preferred.
  • Significant leadership experience in clinical, translational, or basic research related to drug development.
  • Understanding of related disciplines (biostatistics, regulatory, pre-clinical pharmacology, pharmaceutical sciences).
  • Demonstrated scientific productivity (publications, abstracts, etc.) and strong scientific writing skills.
  • Proven leadership skills with ability to defend clinical plans at governance meetings; capable of navigating fast-paced environments.
  • Experience leading cross-functional and matrixed teams; ability to align cross-functional leaders and manage multiple projects.
  • Passion for oncology patient outcomes and strong data-driven decision-making abilities.
  • Proactive, strategic thinker with excellent communication, mentoring, and relationship-building skills; ability to influence across the organization.
  • Global perspective and ability to work with colleagues from diverse cultures and geographies.
