Position Summary
Vertex seeks a highly experienced and strategic leader as Senior Director, Global Commercial Strategy β Type 1 Diabetes (T1D). Develop and execute the global commercial strategy for the T1D portfolio, working cross-functionally and with external stakeholders to commercialize innovative therapies for unmet patient needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and lead the global commercial strategy for the T1D portfolio.
- Conduct in-depth market analysis to identify opportunities, challenges, and trends.
- Collaborate with R&D, medical affairs, regulatory, and market access to integrate commercial strategies.
- Drive launch planning: segmentation, positioning, pricing, and promotional strategies.
- Build relationships with healthcare professionals, patient advocacy groups, and industry partners.
- Provide strategic guidance to regional/local commercial teams, with a focus on the US market.
- Monitor and evaluate portfolio performance and provide improvement recommendations.
- Represent the commercial perspective in internal forums and contribute to clinical development plans.
- Lead and mentor a high-performing team.
Qualifications
- Bachelorβs degree in Business, Life Sciences, or related field; MBA/advanced degree preferred.
- 12+ years in biotechnology/pharmaceutical/healthcare; 5+ years in leadership role.
- Proven track record in global commercial strategy (endocrinology/immunology preferred).
- Experience in global strategic marketing across multiple geographies.
- Direct US market experience, including dynamics, stakeholders, and regulatory environment.
