Global Clinical Head, Rheumatology

Role Summary

Global Clinical Head, Rheumatology – senior medical scientific expert on asset/product/indication teams, integral member of Franchise Team and/or Global Product Team. Focused on immunology/rheumatology programs within AstraZeneca.

Responsibilities

• Accountable for all clinical scientific aspects of the product/asset, including benefit/risk assessments and the scientific strategies for clinical components of the Target Product Profile, Clinical Development Plan, regulatory documents, and core labeling texts.
• Provide clinical and medical input into overall project strategy.
• Lead clinical deliverables including clinical studies and components of regulatory submissions.
• Serve as the single point of contact for TA-Heads and R&D leaders for clinical and scientific components of the product and/or indications.

Qualifications

• An MD, MBBS, or other equivalent medical degree from an accredited university
• Minimum 7 years‚Äô relevant experience within immunology, rheumatology, allergy, or autoimmune space, including late-phase drug development
• Developed/delivered multiple complex and large studies (e.g., multinational outcome studies)
• Demonstrated success in influencing functions outside of clinical and across geographies
• Experience in benefit/risk assessment and creating patient risk management plans
• Experience with global regulatory submissions and interacting with major regulatory agencies
• Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and mentor other physicians/scientists
• Excellent communication skills across stakeholder groups
• Business acumen and insight into payer and reimbursement hurdles globally
