Role Summary

Global Senior Manager, Transportation โ€“ Cold Chain. Leads global and regional procurement strategies for temperature-controlled logistics, overseeing complex spend and delivering value across the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and drive the Procurement vision for the stakeholder community.
  • Develop and implement category strategies for temperature-controlled logistics, including regulatory compliance, packaging innovation, and risk mitigation across global cold chain networks.
  • Collaborate with Quality, Regulatory, and Supply Chain teams to ensure end-to-end integrity of temperature-sensitive products, leveraging monitoring technologies and data analytics.
  • Interface with senior leadership to align objectives on quality, reliability, innovation, and cost.
  • Understand business demand, partner with Business Engagement Leads to deliver value improvements and competitive advantage.
  • Engage in strategic planning to align with long-range business requirements.
  • Deliver on financial, service, reliability, quality, innovation, and growth commitments.
  • Build relationships across JNJ to enable collaborative dialogue and optimal solutions.
  • Develop deep supplier relationships, including data review, performance management, and end-to-end value improvement; drive innovation.
  • Identify and implement procurement goals and category strategies using expertise and market understanding.
  • Escalate issues impacting Global Procurement as needed.

Major Duties & Responsibilities

  • 30% Develop and execute procurement strategies aligned with business/sector needs.
  • 25% Manage supplier relationships, communicate strategy changes, execute joint initiatives, and monitor contract negotiations.
  • 25% Ensure execution of category strategies including sourcing, negotiations, contract implementation, and performance against targets.
  • 10% Develop, implement, and maintain processes, policies, guidelines, SOPs, and operating principles.
  • 5% Lead team meetings and provide updates to Global Procurement Leadership.
  • 5% Manage and prioritize portfolio of procurement initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Required: Bachelorโ€™s Degree.
  • Required: 10+ years of related experience.
  • Broad understanding of business operations and core procurement (spend management, category management, supplier management).
  • Leadership, communication, influencing, collaboration, and talent development skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and propose cost/service alternatives; sound judgment for new approaches.
  • Customer orientation with strong relationships to management.
  • Project management, business acumen, and strong verbal/written communication skills.
  • Ability to continuously improve the organization.

Skills

  • Procurement: supplier management, performance analysis, market analysis, category management, procurement excellence.
  • Cold chain logistics: GDP knowledge, thermal packaging solutions, real-time temperature monitoring.
  • Stakeholder influence across businesses, Procurement LT, Marketing, R&D, and Supply Chain.

Education

  • Bachelorโ€™s Degree (Required).
