Job Summary
- Lead strategic sourcing and procurement for CRO services supporting Clinical Development across Takeda.

Responsibilities
- Develop and implement global category strategies for CRO services; align with business goals across regions/functions.
- Conduct market analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and risks.
- Identify, evaluate, and select CRO suppliers.
- Manage supplier relationships: ensure reliability, quality, and innovation.
- Negotiate contracts, terms, and conditions to optimize pricing and service levels.
- Track and improve supplier relationship management (SRM) in relevant tools/technologies.
- Lead global sourcing initiatives to drive cost savings and value creation.
- Execute procurement best practices (RFIs, RFPs, RFQs) and ensure compliance with policies, regulations, and quality standards.
- Develop and manage an annual CRO demand plan; track/report category cost savings and financial performance; forecast/manage spend with Finance.
- Monitor supplier performance using KPIs; drive continuous improvement and resolve performance issues.
- Mentor and develop procurement professionals; support collaboration and excellence.

Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelorโ€™s degree (supply chain management, business administration, or related); Masterโ€™s preferred.
- Preferred ISM certifications: CPSM, CPSD.
- 13+ years in procurement/category/supply chain with clinical development focus in pharma.
- Proven experience building global category strategies.
- Strong negotiation, contract, and supplier relationship management skills.
- Excellent analytical/financial/strategic thinking; leadership and global cross-functional collaboration.
- Knowledge of industry regulations and quality standards.
- Proficiency with procurement tools (e.g., Cirtuo, Ariba, SAP).

Location/Work setup
- Cambridge, MA (hybrid; in-office at least 8 days/month; locally based).

Compensation/Benefits
- U.S. base salary range: $177,000.00โ€“$278,080.00.
