Role Summary

The Gastro HCP Marketing Director leads the development and execution of commercial plans to maintain market leadership in an increasingly competitive landscape. This leader will work closely with multiple IBTs to ensure success in development of strategy, creative and execution plans, product support and sales execution. The Director is responsible for developing professional education strategy and managing medical education marketing activities for Skyrizi and RINVOQ in Gastro. The Director develops, implements, and maintains accountability for interactions and feedback with IBD External Experts. The Director works in a team-based environment to lead the development and execution of brand strategies and implementation of innovative tactics to maximize brand sales, market share, and profitability. This leader has an enterprise mindset and can anticipate and adapt to quickly changing market priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Requires the ability to provide in-depth insights based on product / market assessments, monitoring progress against brand milestones, and assimilation of key stakeholder feedback with quantitative analysis in order to make strategic recommendations for optimal brand performance
  • Identifies, builds and strengthens commercial relationships with External Experts (EEs) and emerging leaders in IBD as well as relationships with relevant patient and professional associations. Responsible for engagement with EEs and attendance at the key medical congresses to garner a better understanding of the medical condition and customer needs.
  • Responsible for providing direction to the Regional Marketing Manager AD and RMM team to understand customer insights to develop and optimize use of innovative marketing resources (peer to peer programming, spend allocations, speaker utilization, and programs) based on regional market dynamics
  • Responsible for developing the advisory board strategy and leading the team on the development, content and execution of advisories throughout the year to garner a stronger understanding of the customer priorities and unmet needs.
  • Responsible for congress and convention strategy and booth execution
  • Develops and articulates high-impact medical education marketing strategies that are innovative, executable, and clinically/financially supported. Identifies problems proactively and conceptualize solutions using creativity and innovation.
  • Responsible for building and executing omni channel promotion to IBD customers
  • Responsible for competitive intelligence and competitive preparation planning, leading the cross-functional team to proactively ensure awareness and effective strategies are in place to respond to changing market dynamics.
  • Effectively tracks and manages the marketing budget. Consistently manage multiple projects to deliver high-quality work product in a timely fashion.
  • Manages team of 12, with 3 direct reports

Qualifications

Basics:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing or related field. MBA preferred.
  • Previous sales/marketing experience required. 7+ years marketing experience
  • Management experience (3+ years leading field and/or inhouse sales/marketing teams)
  • Knowledge of applicable regulations and standards affecting Pharmaceutical Products
Preferred:
  • Advanced degree or previous sales/marketing experience required.
  • Experience working in multiple therapeutic categories strongly preferred
  • Leading EE field teams or peer to peer marketing initiatives
