Fungal Discovery & Genomics Co-Op

Role: Support discovery and characterization of entomopathogenic fungi for insect control in a research-focused co-op position. Responsibilities: develop protocols for fungal isolation and cultivation, screen and maintain isolates, document metadata, assist with DNA extraction for genome sequencing, collaborate with microbiology, genomics, and bioinformatics teams, and present findings. Opportunities include developing transcriptomics workflows for toxin annotation and gene discovery. Requirements: pursuing a Master’s or Ph.D. in Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Genetics, Biotechnology, or related fields; experience with microbial or fungal culturing preferred; strong documentation and organizational skills; interest in genomics and bioinformatics; ability to work independently and in multidisciplinary teams.
