Summary
We are seeking a Senior Scientist / Assistant Director in our Functional Genomics group (leveled based on experience and interview performance).
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with R&D across disease areas to analyze omics data for disease biology understanding, preclinical model characterization, drug mechanism of action, biomarker identification, and identification of new therapeutic targets
- Provide input to guide study design for omics-based experiments
- Integrate data as a computational biologist from transcriptome, proteome, DNA sequencing, genome structure data, and other NGS platforms
- Work in cross-disciplinary teams and communicate findings to scientific audiences (biology, chemistry, statistics)
- Generalize pipelines for data integration and analysis
- Organize and document analysis strategies and results
Requirements
- Ph.D. in Computational Biology, Biological Sciences, Bioinformatics, Biostatistics, or related fields, plus 2+ years post-PhD experience (Senior Scientist) or 3+ years industry (Assistant Director)
- Strong track record of innovative research (publications and oral presentations)
- Familiarity with advanced omics analysis (single-cell omics, network inference/analysis, machine learning)
- Proficiency with Linux, git, Python or R, and IDEs (Jupyter, RStudio, VSCode); AWS/cloud compute is a plus
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge in Cardiovascular, Renal, Pulmonary, or Neurology is preferred
